NWT 811 is a free, confidential, 24/7 phone line where you can speak with a registered nurse for health advice, including mental wellness and addiction recovery support. You can ask to stay anonymous.

What to expect when you call or text

  • You will speak with a registered nurse who can assess your situation, provide advice, and connect you to supports in your region.
  • For the Mental Health and Wellness Support line, you may be prompted to press 1.
  • Follow-up support may be offered.

Notes

  • If you can’t connect to 811, call 1-844-259-1793 instead. If you’re calling from a cell phone, turning off Wi‑Fi Calling may help.
  • You can also use 811 to reach poison control.
